方法一:采用邻甲苯胺为原料，经成盐、硝化、水析、溶解脱色、中和及脱水干燥而得。将相对密度为1.4的硝酸冷至20℃以下，在搅拌下加入干粉状的邻甲基乙酰苯胺，温度控制在70℃以下，冷却得黄色固体。将其加入硫酸回流，2h后冷却滤去不溶物，在40℃以下用40%氢氧化钠中和至pH=1-2，得黄色结晶。过滤、水洗，用乙醇重结晶即得5-硝基邻甲苯胺。原料消耗定额：邻甲苯胺876kg/t、硫酸（100%）4350kg/t、硝酸（98%）520kg/t、纯碱（98%）1700kg/t、活性炭1kg/t。
