见光后逐渐变成微黄色。100℃以上形成高分子化合物，120℃时逐渐分解。溶于乙醇、乙醚、乙酸、苯、异丙苯和石油醚，不溶于水。有氧化性，遇有机物能引起燃烧。低毒，半数致死量(大鼠，经口)4100mg/kg。对眼睛、呼吸系统、皮肤有刺激性。活性氧含量100%为5.92，95%为5.62%。
