- In the Wolff-Kishner carbonyl to methylene reduction (heating with hydrazine and alkali hydroxide), diethylene glycol is now the usual solvent (the Huang Minlon modification): J. Am. Chem. Soc., 68, 2487 (1946); Org. Synth. Coll., 4, 510 (1963). The reduction has also been performed at ambient temperature by the use of KO-t-Bu in DMSO: J. Am. Chem. Soc., 84, 1734 (1962). - 有微弱的特臭,淡氨味,在湿空气中冒烟,极毒,有折光性,呈强碱性,对玻璃、橡胶和软木起化学侵蚀作用。对空气敏感。强还原性。能与水和乙醇混溶,不溶于氯仿和乙醚,易从空气中吸收二氧化碳。有毒,半数致死量(兔,静脉)25mg/kg。有致癌可能性。有刺激性。
