- 金丝桃素是贯叶连翘光反应的色素,在590-600纳米被光激活,呈现高度毒性(Amax = 592纳米)。在体外和体内它均诱导癌细胞凋亡,是一种强力的抗病毒药物。它激活化合物,抑制蛋白激酶C,不可逆转的损害sarco/内质网和其他细胞膜,降低细胞的pH值,抑制线粒体的功能。
- 医学上金丝桃素具有抗病毒、抗癌、抗抑郁等功能,已用于治疗抑郁,爱滋病,肝炎,癌症等,近年来的研究表明还可高效作用于禽流感H5N1型病毒。金丝桃素具有光敏活性和光动作用,这使它有可能作为一种新的光敏物质应用于癌症的光化学治疗,同时也可初步解释其抗病毒机制。金丝桃素能抑制HIV及其它一些反转录病毒,它通过影响HIV复制循环的装配与释放过程抑制HIV活性,丰富了抗AIDS药物的机制。
