副作用:地塞米松是一种人工合成的肾上腺皮质激素，属于长效类糖皮质激素类药物,糖皮质激素有促进三大营养物质代谢的作用，同时又能阻止蛋白质合成，长期外用，可导致较为严重的后果，不过不良反应比口服用药要小很多，常见的系统性糖皮质激素副作用包括：胃部不适，增加胃溃疡敏感度。增加食欲，导致体重显著增加。潜在的糖尿病患者：葡萄糖不耐症是加重患者原有糖尿病。精神病，包括人格改变，易怒，兴奋，躁狂。骨质疏松症的长期治疗：病理性骨折（如髋关节)。肝酶升高，脂肪肝豆状核变性（通常是可逆的）。对肾病综合征患者长期大剂量用药容易引起胃肠道溃疡、股骨头无菌性坏死等大的副作用。治疗肾病综合征还是用醋酸泼尼松片为好。地塞米松可用于治疗高原脑水肿和肺水肿。人们在登山探险时使用可以缓解高原反应。与马波沙星、克霉唑等合用以治疗狗或鸟等的耳部感染或过敏。
用途一:主要用于抗炎和抗过敏，适用于类风湿性关节炎和其他胶原性疾病等。
