灭草锰是具有选择性的氨基甲酸酯类除草剂。用作芽前土壤处理后，被抗性作物如大豆、花生等的根吸收，向上传导并迅速代谢，而一年生杂草的根吸收后，却能抑制幼芽生长而致死，适用于大豆、花生、甘蔗、马铃薯等地，防除一年生禾本科及某此阔叶杂草。
